Giving play to the role as the innovation node of Beijing China-Japan Innovation Cooperation Demonstration Zone, Daxing District introduces innovative companies engaged in the hydrogen energy industry such as hydrogen storage, transportation, and processing from the world, supports technological innovation related to hydrogen energy, actively cooperates with Fangshan District, Changping District, Tianjin, Hebei and other regions in industry linkage and innovation, and builds itself into an important node in the entire hydrogen energy industry chain of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Daxing District has built the world’s largest hydrogenation demonstration station with a daily hydrogenation capacity of 4.8 tons, and plans and opens a number of application scenarios of hydrogen energy in transportation with the hydrogenation station as the core; it also constructs a hydrogen energy display and experience center with the hydrogen energy technology park ("Qing Zhi Quan") as the core, improves the ecological system of hydrogen energy industry and creates an internationally influential hydrogen energy demonstration area and a demonstration base for transformation of hydrogen energy-related scientific and technological achievements.

In 2020, Daxing District, as the leading city on behalf of Beijing Municipality, worked with six districts including Haidian District and Changping District, and 12 cities (districts) including Binhai New Area of Tianjin Municipality, Baoding City and Tangshan City of Hebei Province, Binzhou City and Zibo City of Shandong Province to build a cluster of demonstration cities for fuel cell vehicles in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, which was included in the first batch of clusters of demonstration cities for fuel cell vehicles in China, driving the green transformation and development of energy in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Daxing District, guided by application promotion, relying on transportation hubs such as Beijing Daxing International Airport, Jingdong “Asia No.1” and Jingnan Logistics Base, and focusing on application scenarios such as sanitation vehicles, logistics vehicles, dump trucks, and buses, attracts enterprises engaged in key components in the hydrogen fuel cell industry, such as engines, stacks, bipolar plates, membrane electrodes, proton exchange membranes, air compressors, and hydrogen circulation pumps to settle in it, and initially forms the “3+4” ecosystem of hydrogen energy industry with the hydrogenation station, hydrogen energy exchange center, and technology park as carriers and the industry fund, enterprise alliance, special policy, and test base as supports.
